9/11 Memorial - a magnficent tribute

Visited the 9/11 Memorial ... what has been created is nothing short of beautiful and moving.  After a very organized and civilized entry process through security and into the site area, Alan and I arrived at the grounds and were immediately overwhelmed at the first glimpse of the nearly 3,000 names inscribed in the massive bronze panels edged around The Memorial’s twin reflecting pools.  The pools sit within the footprints of where each of the Twin Towers once stood and as we slowly walked around the circumference of each pool, reading the inscriptions and reflecting in the memory of what was, a total sense of calm and serenity was felt in the sounds of the stunning waterfalls.  You hear nothing else of the environment around you.  Seeing the construction of the mighty new 1 WTC erected with about 30 more stories to go, along with the other buildings adorning this Memorial site, I look forward to returning next year when the 9/11 Museum opens.  A magnificent tribute indeed.
